योग्यता
Medical Officer / Specialist / Radiologist (Medical Posts) :-
- MBBS / MD / relevant medical degree from a recognized university/institution. Registration with Medical Council required.
Assistant Engineer (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Environment / Automobile): :-
- B.E. / B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university. Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Gujarati/Hindi often needed.
Town Planning Officer / Assistant / Deputy Town Planner :-
- Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) / Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech Civil) + Postgraduate degree/diploma in Town/Regional/City Planning (or equivalent membership in Institute of Town Planners). Computer knowledge required.
Staff Nurse / Nursing Officer :-
- GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) or B.Sc Nursing from recognized institution. Registration with Gujarat Nursing Council/State Council mandatory.
Pharmacist :-
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or B.Pharm from recognized university/institution. Registration with Pharmacy Council.
Lab Technician / X-Ray Technician / Technical Assistant :-
- Diploma/B.Sc in relevant field (e.g., Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiology) or equivalent technical qualification.
Clerk Grade-III / Junior Clerk :-
- Graduation (Any degree) from recognized university + basic computer knowledge (CCC or equivalent). Some require 12th pass + computer proficiency for lower clerical roles.
Driver :-
- 10th/12th pass + valid Heavy/Light Motor Vehicle driving license + experience. Knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi.
Marshal / Watch & Ward / Security-related :-
- Typically 10th/12th pass + relevant experience/physical standards.
चयन प्रक्रिया
- Shortlisting for test/interview: Based on eligibility and criteria fixed by SMC for each cadre, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage, which may include a written test, skill test and/or interview depending on the post.
- Written examination / skill test: For technical and specialist posts (Engineers, Town Planning, Food Safety Officer, X‑Ray Technician etc.), SMC can conduct a written exam and/or practical/skill test to assess subject knowledge and job-related skills./li>
- Interview (for selected cadres): Certain higher or specialist posts may also have an interview/viva‑voce round in addition to the written test, as decided by the corporation.
- Preparation of merit list and waiting list: A merit list (and waiting list) is prepared based on marks obtained in the written/skill test and interview (if held), following reservation rules and post-wise weightage notified by SMC.
- Document verification and final appointment: Shortlisted candidates are called for verification of original certificates, and appointments are issued from the approved list/waiting list subject to successful verification and medical fitness where applicable.
