योग्यता
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) :-
- Candidates must be registered for a Ph.D. programme in Historical Studies (Ancient/Medieval/Modern India or allied subjects) at a recognized university.
- Applications must come through the proper channel — recommended by the Research Supervisor and forwarded by the Head of the Department/Centre/Principal.
- Ph.D. Registration Certificate is mandatory at the time of Presentation-cum-Interview (Stage-II).
चयन प्रक्रिया
- Stage-I - (Online Entrance Test): 100 marks (100 objective-type questions, 1 mark each, no negative marking). Questions are bilingual (English & Hindi) and based on the candidate’s chosen specialization (Ancient/Medieval/Modern India).
- Stage-II - (Presentation-cum-Interview): 60 marks. Shortlisted candidates make an 8-10 minute presentation (preferably PowerPoint) on their registered Ph.D. research topic, followed by an interview.
- Final Merit - Based on total marks out of 160 (Stage-I + Stage-II).
Examination Centres
- Stage-I - New Delhi, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Pune.
- Stage-II - will be held at ICHR Headquarters, New Delhi (in hybrid mode). Travel fare reimbursement (2nd class sleeper/bus) is provided to SC/ST/PwD candidates for Stage-II if distance ≥ 30 km.

Salary (वेतन विवरण)
ICHR Junior Research Fellow पदों के लिए वेतन 7th Pay Commission के अनुसार दिया जाएगा।
- Basic Pay: ₹17,600/- प्रति माह
- Duration : 2 years (extendable by 1 more year without any financial support in special cases).
